NeighborWorks Week 2009

On June 6, 2009, NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania staff and family members, volunteers from the BNY Mellon and members of AmeriCorps KEYS assisted Mon Valley Initiative and North Braddock Cares to clean up the exteriors of abandoned buildings. While volunteers cut back weeds, picked up litter and removed debris, local fireman removed major hazards, boarded up doors and windows, and posted warning signs.

The group targeted houses in the vicinity of a new housing development coordinated by the Mon Valley Initiative. Together these initiatives will make a noticeable impact on the look and feel of the community.
