Mission:
The mission of NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania is financial empowerment that promotes homeownership and stable communities. This goal is realized by helping individuals and families to strengthen their financial security through education programs, counseling, and affordable financing.

History:
Founded in 1968 by the now-legendary community organizer Dorothy Richardson, NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania was the first community-based group to respond to the lack of safe and affordable housing and has become a model for like organizations all around the country. Since then, NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania has evolved into a community leader for sustainable homeownership within the region. NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania forges critical relationships with financial institutions, government officials, and neighborhood residents to offer an array of homeownership services.

For nearly 40 years, NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania has been "fulfilling dreams one home at a time” by providing services that enhance lives and expand housing options in the Pittsburgh region.
